Limestone Chimneypiece with Panelled Overmantel and Carved Rosettes
Photographed on site the week it was set, before the room around it was finished. Two rosette medallions sit inside raised cartouche panels, separated by turned balusters and capped by a crisp dentil cornice, and the jambs fall away in long fluted scrolls to the hearth. Behind the opening the firebox is laid in herringbone brick. This is what the Ancient Surfaces atelier carves when a room needs a full height limestone chimneypiece cut to an exact opening rather than an antique that has to be persuaded to fit. Commissioned to your dimensions in solid limestone.
